Date: Thursday 04 March
For all prose, poetry and drama enthusiasts,
The Irish Writers' Centre invites you to challenge one another in a
Dublin Colleges' "Word-Off" in celebration of World Book Day, March
4th 2010. We would like an individual or team from each college to
come along and recite a poem, read a short story or give a short
performance. All material must be original. A 15 minute time slot will
be allocated to each college. There will be a panel of judges from The
Irish Writers' Centre who will choose the winning college and crown
them "Word-Off" Champions of Dublin 2010 (there will also be some
great prizes).
The "Word-Off" will begin at 5pm followed by live music and a wine
reception. At 8pm we will be joined by Senator David Norris, who will
perform a one man Joycean stand up. We will also have a series of
events prior to this on March 4th with a Coffee morning kicking off
the days activities at 11am. There will be a book swap, readings and a
creative writing workshop, all of which will be open to the general
public.
If you are interested in participating please contact us as soon as
possible to ensure your place.
Let the war of words begin!
