Chair of the CSC 2010/2011
I'm Jack, the Chairperson of the CSC. I'm a final year Law student, and I first got involved with societies in Trinity through the Law Soc, and the Orchestral Society. When I was in second year I was the Secretary for the Orchestra, during the academic year 2009/10 I was a member of the CSC Executive. Participating in societies has without a doubt been the most rewarding aspect of my time in College so far, and I'm looking forward to doing more this coming year.
The Chairperson's job is to ensure the smooth running of the CSC, to preside over the Executive and general meetings, to maintain good relations with our lovely staff, and to represent the CSC where necessary.
I love meeting the people who run our wonderful societies, it's great to interact with so many passionate and enthusiastic students.
If there's anything you're not sure of, please feel that you can approach me to ask any questions you might have. I want you to get the most out of running your Society for your members. I'm continually amazed by the great ideas and inspiring things that our Societies achieve year after year.
According to the CSC constitution the responsibilities of the Chairperson are as follows:
(i) The chairing of meetings of the Committee and Executive.
(ii) The appointing of chairpersons to any sub-committees of the Executive or the Committee.
(iii) Responsibility for the overall running of the Committee.
(iv) Responsibility for staff employment and relations.
(v) Liaison with other capitated bodies and chief negotiator with bodies or person not covered in the briefs of other Officers.
