My name is David Doyle and I’m the secretary to the Central Societies Committee (CSC). I’m currently a third year English Literature and Religions & Theology student. I’ve been involved in several societies during my time in college and was most recently auditor of Trinity LGBT Society.
As Secretary my chief roles are to help students establish new societies as well as deal with constitutional issues of established societies and I’m more than happy to discuss any of these areas with you and your society, either in person or via email. Your constitution is what makes your society unique and it’s my job to help you make sure that it accurately reflects what your society does for its members so remember to get in touch at secretary@csc.tcd.ie if you’re planning to update your constitution to help make your society more run effectively.
Societies are by far the most important aspect of college life and the CSC is here to make sure you run your society to the best of your ability. Being on the committee of a society is a fantastic opportunity so give it your best and remember that either myself or any of the other CSC Officers are here to help you throughout the year so don’t be afraid to get in touch!

According to the CSC constitution the responsibilities of the Secretary are as follows:
*The preparation of agendas and minutes for meetings of the Committee and Executive.
*The keeping and proper archiving of the Committee's records.
*The general correspondence of the Committee.
*The legal affairs of the Committee.
*The constitutional affairs of the Committee and of societies.
*Making recommendations to the Executive regarding provisional recognitions of societies.
*All C.S.C. Publications.
*Represent the Committee on any national Student Society Organisation to which it may affiliate.
