Welcome to CSC!

The Central Societies Committee (CSC) is the body responsible for student societies in Trinity College.

Amenities - Cian McCarthy

Hi I’m Cian, the CSC Amenities officer. I was Chair of Trinity Singers and also Production Manager and Treasurer of Trinity Arts Festival and from these I’ve learned a lot about the working of societies and events and the facilities available to societies.

Amenities Officer means I’m basically the go to guy for society officers with issues about your rooms or capital purchases you would like to make. I’m also here to help you if you have questions about facilities around college that you can use for meetings or events, and if you need equipment for a special event, like a PA, I’ll try to help to source them. If any problems arise about anything feel free to email me and I’ll do my best to sort it out.

I can’t do anything if you don’t let me know, and don’t hesitate to contact me just because you think the problem isn’t serious, because I will try help with whatever I can.

Societies are what make Trinity such a fun and special University and the CSC are here to help you to do your important job of running a society. We’re very lucky to be able to give rooms societies and be able to facilitate them so much, so make sure you make the most of these opportunities, and remember to contact me if you need any help in doing so, whether it’s repairing something, expanding your library or just buying a table.

According to the CSC constitution the responsibilities of the Amenities Officer are as follows;

* The allocation and maintenance of society rooms and facilities.

* Researching and making capital purchases for the Committee.

* Dealing with College authorities relevant to amenities.

* To act as the nominated safety officer of the C.S.C.

* To act as the nominated recycling officer of the C.S.C
