Founded in 1830, The College Theological Society (The Theo), is one of the three oldest societies in Trinity. It is the oldest student-led theology society in the world. The Theo aims to foster engaging, rigorous discourse about topics related to the studies of religion and theology. Weekly, we host scholarly speakers and writers from various academic institutions. We encourage frequent student contributions to our sessions in the form of academic competitions, chamber debates, art submissions, and open discussions. This year, AY 2025-2026, we will host student-led charity fundraising events. We also plan to publish an online zine for student artwork and informal writing, as well as a hard copy academic journal featuring the winners of our annual paper competition. We value diversity of expression and experience in our society, and we welcome people of all faiths or none to join us. Whether you know nothing about theology, or are studying religion, The Theo is a great way to meet new people and ideas and to express yourself in a thoughtful, encouraging environment.
